January

  • Ruth says goodbye to her fellow F2 doctor, Toby.

  • Casualty series producer, Oliver Kent, reveals in an interview that he was lucky to have cast Georgia as Ruth and that the audience has fallen in love with her.

February
  • Georgia is presented with a birthday book made by fans outside the Casualty Bristol studios*.

  • Jane Danson gives birth to a 2nd baby son the day after Georgia's birthday.

  • Ruth treats a patient played by Georgia's former Corrie colleague, Chris Bisson.

March
  • Ruth goes to a nightclub on her own.

  • Ruth gets drunk at Kelsey's leaving do.

  • Georgia does a new photo and interview with Inside Soap magazine.

  • Casualty is nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Continuing Drama.

  • The BBC confirm Casualty's move from Bristol to Cardiff in 2011.

April
  • Ruth accidentally bumps into nurse Jay in a bar.

  • Georgia attends the BAFTA Awards held at the Royal Festival Hall on a lovely warm spring day. Casualty unfortunately lose out to The Bill.

  • Ruth pays Jay to act as her date at a surgeons' dinner.

May
  • Casualty is nominated for the TV Quick/TV Choice Best Family Drama  Award.

  • Georgia, Mark Letheren and Suzanne packer along with Sir David Frost attend a gala fund raiser at the Academy Theatre in Shepton Mallet.

June
  • Ruth and Jay attend another surgeons' dinner after which Jay removes his trousers.

  • Georgia films a third surgeons' dinner at Leigh Court near Bristol.

  • Ruth and Jay spend the night together after attending a lecture on ventriculoperitoneal shunts.

  • Georgia describes her journey from Coronation Street to the Royal Court in an artwork for the charity Action For Children.

July
  • Ruth and Jay fall out over a payment for sex misunderstanding.

  • Ruth amputates a man's leg at the scene of a road accident.

August
  • Parmedic Curtis dies after falling from the E.D. roof.

  • Ruth and Jay end the series of Casualty together but keeping their relationship secret from other E.D. staff.

 

September
  • Georgia makes the long list for the National Television Awards Best Drama Performance.
  • Jay and Ruth continue to keep their relationship private as the new series of Casualty begins.
  • Ben and Toby return for a one off episode of Casualty.
October
  • Ruth and Jay go public.

  • Ruth finds out she's pregnant and secretly takes an abortion pill.

  • Georgia appears in a Casualty scene with her bygone namesake Toyah Willcox.

  • Ruth, on her birthday, collapses at the surgeons' dinner with an abortion pill related miscarriage.

  • Ruth ends things with Jay for the sake of her surgical career.

  • Georgia helps support the Community Service Volunteer Make a Difference Day.

November
  • Ruth attends the wedding of friend and patient Amir's niece. Amir unfortunately dies after a relapse on the day.

  • Georgia appears in a Casualty scene with Corrie pal Angela Lonsdale.

  • Ruth returns to the E.D. full time after Sarah Evans removes her from the surgical rotation.

  • Georgia appears in a new set of photo shoots.

December
  • Ruth's estranged brother Jonathon appears in the E.D. in an episode that also features Thomas Morrison, who played Shyanne's brother in Blackpool, as a security guard with a crush on Ruth.

  • Georgia appears in her 100th episode of Casualty.

  • Ruth and Jay end the year together after Ruth's heroin addicted brother trashes her flat and steals her savings.

 


Ruth and Jay kiss and make up a lot during the year. Their relationship is Off-On-Off-On-Off-On!
